There will be 1 to 2 inches of space between the fig plant’s roots and the surrounding walls

No flowers bloom on the branches of fig trees. The fruit has the blossom inside of it! The crunchy small edible seeds that give figs their distinctive texture are produced by several tiny blooms.

The early Olympic athletes used figs as a training food. Figs were also presented as laurels to the winners, becoming the first Olympic “medal.”
