At least 6 hours of sunlight daily 

It does best under full sun but will tolerate some shade

Low amount of water

Thyme is fairly drought tolerant so it only needs an occasional watering once established 

 

Plant in a well-draining container that is at least 10 inches deep and fill with potting soil

Keep the soil moist but not overly wet and fertilize occasionally

 

Plant the seedlings about 12 inches apart
