Key responsibilities/job scope:

• Implement urban farm set-ups and installations and successfully and effectively manage school farms.

• Support in the planning and execution of our urban farming workshops and events.

• Work closely with our clients, suppliers and partners to ensure projects run smoothly.

• Implement Rooftop Republic’s school programmes, including our signature school programme - The Young Farmers’ Programme, and other school-focused initiatives and programmes to get students to learn more about food.

• Work closely with the Academy team to develop educational programmes suitable for schools and students across all levels.

• Working hours: 3 days/week on fixed days

 

We are looking for someone who possesses the following skills and experience:

• Interest and concern for agriculture, environment, climate change and simply growing your own veggies and herbs.

• Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and youth 

• Background/experience of working with local and international schools.

• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills - able to effectively engage and motivate groups of students

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at the same time.

• A good command in Chinese (Cantonese) and English (speaking & writing) is required.

• A proactive and independent team player with good interpersonal skills

• Competency in MS Office.

• Ability to work weekends where necessary (off-days to be given in-lieu)

• Have the right to work in Hong Kong. Rooftop Republic cannot provide a visa.

Candidates with the following training, skills and experience will have an advantage:

• Experience in farming and farm management in Hong Kong; and/or

• Associate or University Degree, especially in the areas of education, pedagogy, environmental science, agricultural studies

 

The level of appointment will commensurate with qualification and experience. More experienced candidates may be considered for the Assistant Project Manager position.
